Industrial Chemical

Application of Chemours Ti-Pure

Coating Application
Chemours has been the pioneer in coating industry as well as in titanium dioxide technology. Its products have long been the best among various titanium dioxide manufacturers in terms of quality.

Architectural coating industry
Coating manufacturers can make a lot of colors with titanium dioxide, protecting and decorating the buildings. One most vital function of white titanium dioxide is offering covering power for buildings. The higher the content of titanium dioxide in the coat, the stronger the covering power of coat is. Since titanium dioxide can absorb and block UV light, it can protect the surface of coat from being greatly damaged by UV light and thus the coat can be durable.
Application Grade: R-902+ R-931 R-706

Industrial coating industry
Marine coating refers to the coat for ships and structural parts in marine engineering. It is the overall term for coat that can prevent seawater and marine atmospheric corrosion, adherence of marine creatures, and other specific requirements. As for container coating, it is the coat for both outer and inner parts of containers. White titanium dioxide pigment is used in marine and container coatings to achieve weather resistance and decoration purposes.
Application Grade: R-902+ R-706 R-960

Automotive coating industry
Automotive coat is the coat on bodies and parts of cars. It generally indicates the coat on new cars, coat for original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and car mending. White titanium dioxide is an important component of this coat, contributing to the properties of long-term weather resistance and strong color covering ability.
Application Grade: R-900 R-706 R-960 TS-6200

Coating industry for cans/ packaging
Ti-PureTM R-900 is prevalently used in the coat for cans. In this application, properties like neutral color, high gloss and great dispersibility are demonstrated. Ti-PureTM R-902+ has multiple usages. It is a good pigment to be added in coat for cans. The properties of Ti-PureTM R-902+ include easy for dispersion, neutral color and moderate gloss.

Plastics Application
Chemours has dedicated itself to offering products and services for plastics industry with its titanium dioxide technology so as to provide solutions for problems in color, lack of transparency and inadequate weather resistance.

Polyethylene—injection molding and film blowing industry
Many Chemours titanium dioxide products are suitable for the application in these fields. As only a relatively low temperature is needed for processing, the products are easy to be manufactured. Ti-PureTM R-350 is usually what we suggest to these applications. Its main characteristics are:
  • A brighter, cleaner white color
  • Incomparable high temperature performance (Resistance to cracking and hole formation)
  • Excellent production rate
  • Excellent dispersibility
  • Unique combination of anti-yellowing and weather resistance
  • The following products are also commonly adopted:
    Ti-PureTM R-101 - Neutral color
    Ti-PureTM R-104 – Blue

Polyvinyl Chloride - industry of plastics PVC application
Titanium dioxide is contained in almost all vinyl agricultural commodities (including walls, window frames, floors and railings). Also, PVC pipes for plumbing and other uses contain titanium dioxide. In these commodities, titanium dioxide protects vinyl through absorbing UV light of the sun. This prevents degradation of vinyl and gives permanent protection to the appearance of commodities. Titanium dioxide may have been used in the flooring products in your home. Vinyl and laminate flooring commodities have used titanium dioxide as well.
    Application Grade: R-102 R-103 R-105 R-960

Polyamide - industry of engineering plastics application
Like many other highly functional engineering polymers, polyamide resin requires blue-white pigment, a hydrophobic surface, outstanding mechanical, thermal and rheological stability, and lowest metal impurity (like iron) level as possible.
    Application Grade: R-103 R-104 R-105 R-960

Industry of polycarbonate and PC blend application
Titanium dioxide products that fit polycarbonate and PC blend must have a blue pigment in order to provide a bright white color when being applied. Also, they should have sufficient extraction of capillary chemical compositions and a thermally stable organic coating so that they can keep their necessary thermal, rheological and mechanical properties during further processing.
